Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Manager to join their team. In this key role, you will help shape and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring the well-being of employees while driving compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing safety programs, managing PPE and lockout/tagout procedures, and leading safety initiatives across the organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development & Management: Design, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive safety programs, procedures, and documentation to support the organization’s safety culture.
- PPE Program Oversight: Manage and maintain the company’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) program, ensuring employees are properly equipped and trained on usage.
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Program Ownership: Oversee and ensure compliance with lock-out/tag-out procedures for machinery and equipment.
- MSDS Management: Own and manage the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) program to ensure employees are educated on chemical safety, and up-to-date information is available.
- ISNet World Compliance: Maintain and update company safety records in ISNet World, ensuring the organization remains in compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulatory bodies by staying up-to-date with laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Safety Ambassador: Act as the organization’s safety ambassador, providing leadership and fostering a culture where safety is prioritized at every level.
- Proactive Safety Initiatives: Identify potential safety risks, conduct regular audits, and lead safety training programs to address concerns and mitigate incidents.
- Employee Engagement & Buy-In: Engage with all departments to create strong safety awareness and ensure buy-in from leadership and staff through training, communication, and hands-on safety programs.
- Safety Reporting & Incident Investigation: Lead investigations of safety incidents or near misses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess safety programs and practices for effectiveness, recommending and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a safety management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Experience with safety management software and ISNet World compliance.
- Ability to design and implement safety programs, policies, and documentation.
- Proven ability to foster a safety-first culture and drive employee engagement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and create safety buy-in at all levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to anticipate safety issues before they arise.
- Certification in Safety Management (e.g., CSP, CHST, or equivalent) is a plus.
